The Pumped Storage Power Plants Company was established on December 22, 1993 pursuant to the notarial statement. It has been officially registered on December 31, 1993 and the number assigned to it was RHB 39131.
1993
DECEMBER - The Pumped Storage Power Plants Company (Elektrownie Szczytowo-Pompowe S.A.) was established.
FEBRUARY - The Company launched its economical activity.
JUNE - The Company's share capital was raised by way of the contribution in the form of production assets.
JULY - the production activity began.
In 1995, the PSPP Company carried out 84 investment projects for a total amount of PLN 23.555.000. The most important projects were as follows:
- reconstruction and modernisation of the Zasieka Water Power Plant,
- reconstruction and modernisation of the weir at the Gorzupia Water Power Plant,
- reconstruction and modernisation of the 110 kV switch chamber at the Dychów Water Power Plant,
- analysis of the reconstruction and modernisation of the weir at the Żagań II Water Power Plant,
- complex modernisation of the automation and control systems of the Żarnowiec Water Power Plant,
- elaboration and implementation of the monitoring and diagnosis systems for the hydro-system of the Żarnowiec Water Power Plant,
- elaboration and launching of the 1st stage of the modernisation of the Solina-Myczkowce Water Power Plants Complex,
- working out the programme of the spatial concept of the Malczyce nad Odrą Water Power Plant,
- working out the foundations of the reconstruction and modernisation of the Dychów-Raduszec hydro-technical system,
- working out the "Nysa-Bóbr Business Plan",
- working out the concept of the policy for the Górna Odra Water Power Plant,
- working out the prognosis of investment expenditures and the sources for financing them for the years 1996-2000,
- October 1995: adopting the General Project by the WZA,
- November 1995: formulating the first version of the Company's mission,
- working out and adopting the Directions for Development for the PSPP Company by 2000.

- analysis of the possibility of locating the Gas Power Plant near the existing deposits of gas or those that are intended to be used,

- completion of the construction of the weir at the Gorzupia Water Power Plant,

- completion of the modernisation works of the control station at the Porąbka-Żar Water Power Plant,
- completion of the preparatory works for the comprehensive modernisation of the Solina Water Power Plant,
- modernisation of generators at the Żarnowiec Water Power Plant and the generator no. 1 at the Żar Water Power Plant.

- taking the actions aimed at transforming the PSPP Company into a Capital Group,
- initiating the third stage of the restructuring project of the PSPP Company.

- changes in the composition of the Management Board,
- on February 17, 2000 the District Court registered the raise in the initial capital of the Company to the amount of 208 486 500 PLN,
- on the basis of the governmental program: "the Programme for restructuring of the Pumped Storage Power Plants", the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders convened on April 20, 2000 invalidated the shares of the PSPP Company owned by the exploitation companies; the shareholders of the PSPP Company became the following:
- PSE S.A. - 99,4 % of the shares,
- ZEW Solina - Myczkowce S.A. - 0,6 % of the shares,
- the Pumped Storage Power Plants Company was actively engaged in creating on the local markets the new economic entities dealing with building and producing the renewable energy,
- the following companies were established with the significant financial contribution of the PSPP Company:
BIOENERGIA Sp. z o.o., Polskie Elektrownie Gazowe Sp. z o.o. (Polish Gas Power Plants), ELEKTROWNIE GÓRNEJ ODRY Sp. z o.o. (Upper Odra Power Plants), ABC Recykling S.A.
- the modernisation of the Solina Water Power Plant was continued, chiefly as for the works connected with increasing the capacity of the hydro- system no. 1 (from 46,5 megawatts to 68 megawatts) - transforming the generator, changing the turbine-set runner, changing the block converter),
- in September, the authorities of the Company adopted the Strategic Agenda for the PSPP Company for the years 2000 - 2004,
- in order to raise the capital of the exploitation companies, the following power plants were transferred to the Dychów Water Power Plants Complex: Raduszec, Grajówka, Zasieki, Gorzupia I, Gorzupia II and the power plants Tresna and Porąbka were transferred to the Water Power Plants Complex Porąbka - Żar,
- the most important investments were the following: modernisation of the hydro-system no. 2 at the Żarnowiec Water Power Plant, modernisation of the hydro-system no. 2 at the Żar Water Power Plant, reconstruction and modernisation of the hydro-system no. 1 at the Myczkowce Water Power Plant (completion of the modernisation of the Myczkowce Water Power Plant), starting the exploitation of the 1st stage of the reconstruction and modernisation of the 110 kV switch chamber at the Water Power Plant Solina.
- the most important investment projects carried out in 2000 were the following: reconstruction and modernisation of the Solina Water Power Plant, modernisation and reconstruction of the flow system of the turbines, reconstruction and modernisation of the Myczkowce Water Power Plant, modernisation of the Przysieka drop, construction of the PSPP Company headquarters, modernisation of the Dychów hydro-technical system according to the spatial concept programme.

- changes in the composition of the Management Board of the third term of office,
- on January 23, the Company was awarded a certificate "Environmentally Friendly Company" within the framework of the ecological contest "Eco -Friendly" organised under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Aleksander Kwaśniewski,
- starting the investment activity by the daughter companies: ABC Recycling, Elektrownie Górnej Odry (Upper Odra Power Plants),
- on the basis of the governmental programme "The Programme for restructuring the Pumped Storage Power Plants", on December 11, the Management Board of the PSPP Company adopted a resolution on transferring the production assets of 6 water power plants: Żagań II, Kliczków, Gubin, Bukówka, Sobolice and Szprotawa in order to increase the initial capital of the Dychów Water Power Plants Complex,
- the "Strategic Agenda of the PSPP Capital Group for the years 2002 - 2006" from November 2001, adopted on the basis of the resolution of the Management Board in December 2001, contains the Company's development strategy,
- beginning the construction of the Rakowice Water Power Plant,
- starting the exploitation of the reconstructed and modernised TZ -1 and TZ - 2 at the Solina Water Power Plant, with the power of each of the turbo-systems increased from 46 megawatts to 68 megawatts,
- starting the exploitation of the reconstructed and modernised Myczkowce Water Power Plant 8,3 megawatts,
- starting the exploitation of the reconstructed and modernised Przysieka Water Power Plant 1,8 megawatts,
- completion of the modernisation of the Dychów Water Power Plant,
- completion of the modernisation of the 110 kV switch chamber - 2nd and 3rd stage at the Solina Water Power Plant.

- changes in the authorities of the Company, reorganisation of the Company,
- in January 2002, in the third edition of the contest "Environmentally Friendly" the Company was again awarded the certificate "Environmentally Friendly Company",
- in August 2002, the new office of the Company was opened in Ogrodowa Street in Warsaw,
- in September, the act establishing the modernisation of the Dychów Water Power Plant was signed in Dychów and the modernisation was initiated,
- in November, the modernisation of the Zielisko Water Power Plant was completed,
- in December, the exploitation of the modernised hydro-system at the Solina Water Power Plant started,
- in December, the modernisation of the hydro-system at the Żar Water Power Plant was completed,
- in September, The Pumped Storage Power Plants Company starts concluding transactions on the Energy Stock Exchange (after separating the Dychów Water power Plant from contract sales to PSE S.A.),
- in October, the sale of electrical energy from the Pumped Storage Power Plant Dychów was initiated on the on-line Electric Energy Circulation Platform,
- in August, The Pumped Storage Power Plants Company started to provide to the Transmission System Operator such system services as: time reserve, reconstruction reserve, ARNE, compensator work,
- on the basis of the "Programme for Restructuring the Pumped Storage Power Plants", in December, two water power plants (Żagań I and Małomice) have been transferred as the production assets by the PSPP Company to the Dychów Water Power Plants Complex,
- in December, the modernisation works on the Jaz Krzywaniec, that constitutes a component of the hydro-system Dychów - Raduszec, were completed.

- in December 2003, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of establishing the PSPP Company,
- in February 2003, the organisers of the contest "Environmentally Friendly" extended the validity of the "Environmentally Friendly Company" certificate that had been awarded to the company in 2002,
- the 5th jubilee edition of the PSPP Company bulletin "Eco - energy" was published,
- advanced modernisation and reconstruction works at the Solina Water Power Plant; July 22, 2003, 35 years after starting the exploitation of the power plant, the exploitation of the modernised TZ - 4 was initiated,
- the 20th anniversary of the Żarnowiec Water Power Plant,
- July 9, 2003, a new company with the capital of PSPP Company was established in Bełchatów - Elektrownia Wiatrowa Kamieńsk (Wind Power Plant Kamieńsk).
MOST IMPORTANT TASKS COMPLETED IN 2004
1. EW Dychow:
Within the framework of the Project "Modernisation of the hydro-technical system Krzywaniec-Dychów": modernisation of hydro complex HZ-3; modernisation of storage pumps P-3 and P-4, together with their auxiliary equipment and installations.
2. EW Zarnowiec: Installation of class 0.2 voltage transformers for 400KV power current; Development of the ASTKZ system in the upper water reservoir at EW Zarnowiec; Replacement of water cooling installations with in the area of HZ-3 and HZ-4; Providing security services for EW Zarnowiec.
3. EW Myczkowce: Modernisation of the right wing of the EW Myczkowce dam.
4. EW Porabka-Żar: Modernisation of the carrier bearing of hydro complexes 3 and 4 (continuation of the project on modernising carrier bearings in EW Zar); Modernisation of the fire-fighting system in the power plant chamber and in power tunnels for 220 kV cables.
