15 years of the Pumped Storage Power Plants Company (Elektrownie Szczytowo-Pompowe S.A.)

  On December 10, 2008  a gala ceremony of the 15th anniversary of the Pumped Storage Power Plants Company (EPS S.A.) was held in Warsaw Marriott Hotel.

  From among many guests participating in the ceremony we should mention Mr. Eugeniusz Grzeszczak - Secretary of State at the Prime Minister Chancellery, Mr. Jan Bury - Secretary of State at the Ministry of Treasury, Representative to Seym - Mr. Paweł Poncyliusz and Mr. Mirosław Karapyta - the Governor of Podkarpacie Province.

  Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A., holder of 100% shares in  the Pumped Storage Power Plants Company (Elektrownie Szczytowo-Pompowye S.A.) was represented by Mr. Henryk Majchrzak and Mr. Adam Cichocki, V-ce Chairmen of the Management Board. The jubilee ceremony has also been attended by such guests as  the Chairmen of Urząd Regulacji Energetyki (the Energy Regulatory Office), Agencja Rynku Energii S.A. (The Energy Market Agency), Towarowa Giełda Energii S.A. (Polish Power Exchange), Energoprojekt-Warszawa, Chairmen of the Companies of the ESP S.A. Capital Group: EW Żarnowiec S.A., ZEW Solina-Myczkowce S.A., ZEW Dychów S.A., ZEW Porąbka-Żar S.A., ZE Bydgoszcz S.A. and many guests co-operating and being friends with the Company.

As it was a jubilee evening, all the persons taking the floor, in addition to their congratulations, emphasized the achievements and the importance of existence of the Pumped Storage Power Plants Company (Elektrownie Szczytowo-Pompowe S.A.) for Polish power system.  In this context many warm words were addressed to the Management Board and all employees of the Company.

During the ceremony the outstanding employees of the ESP S.A. have been awarded with gold and silver medal „For long-term Service", granted by the President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński, which were handed in to them by Mr. Eugeniusz Grzeszczak - Secretary of State at the Prime Minister Chancellery.

An honorable award "For Merit in Power Industry" - granted by the Minister of Economy, Waldemar Pawlak was handed in by Mr. Jan Bury - Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Treasury.

Distinguished employees received a medal „For Merit for the ESP S.A.", granted and handed in by the President of the Pumped Storage Power Plants Company  (Elektrownie Szczytowo-Pompowe S.A) - Mr. . Krzysztof Konaszewski.

One of the surprises prepared for this evening was a film presenting the achievements of 15 years of Company's operation, completed with information about change of its name to PGE Energia Odnawialna S.A. (PGE Recoverable Energy S.A)

Jubilee ceremonies were closed with concert of  Krystyna Prońko.

The second, non-official part of the evening included. long discussions about the Company, its history and achievements.
