Major achievements in the fields of research and technical developmen and environment protection
Several measures were undertaken in order to keep the equipment in an appropriate technical state,
ensuring an environmentally safe operation of the power plant.
At EW Dychow
Improving the quality of waste water disposed of into the river Bobr - preparatory works were
carried out and project aims were developed for modernising the oil contaminated wastewater
discharge system for the entire Dychow power plant.
At ESP Żar
Restricting the leakage of contaminated wastewaters into the natural environment by making
repairs to the draining system of the power tunnel.
Restricting water leakages leading to soil erosion at the Żar mountain and destruction of its
natural surroundings, by making good the expansion joint at the upper water reservoir.
Restricting leakages and sipping of contaminated waters to the plant's lower reservoir by
conducting repair and maintenance work at the plant's chamber and transport tunnel.
At ESP Zarnowiec
Land reclamation, permitting the growth of greenery in the previously flooded region has been
accomplished through the installation of new draining systems in the area adjacent to the power
plant.
Restricting water leakage leading to erosion of soil at the upper water reservoir and destruction of
its natural environment by sealing the expansions joints at the upper water reservoir.
Restricting leakages by creating a layer of asphaltic concrete and carrying out work securing the
upper water reservoir, in order to prevent the destruction of flora in the adjacent areas.
At EW Solina and at EW Myczkowce
Protecting the banks of the River San from erosion by water and improving the quality of its
waters, as well as stabilising the flow in the river canal by replacing the bar at the outlet from the
Myszkowce power plant's turbine, and carrying out repairs to the discharge canal.
